De-Coding the Metaphor:
Limited Edition Collector’s Volume Now Available at Pre-Print Rates

Gain a rare view into the enigmatic and acclaimed work of artist Victor Ostrovsky. For over a decade, Ostrovsky has won over collectors worldwide through his veiled storytelling and cryptic references to the world of espionage from which he emerged. Now in this impeccably crafted, highly collectable volume, Ostrovsky finally reveals the meaning behind his most popular paintings completed during the last twelve years. With only an extremely limited number being produced, available at reduced pre-printed prices, interested parties are encouraged to act immediately.

Enter the mystery of Ostrovsky’s art.

While literature has long taken espionage as a central theme, Victor Ostrovsky is our only fine artist to address it seriously through the visual arts. The result is his enormously successful series, De-Coding the Metaphor. There is no mistaking an Ostrovsky canvas—the ambiguous cityscapes, the faceless characters, the sly interplay of light and shadow, the clues waiting for that additional detail to reveal all. Clearly a powerful narrative is in play; the sense of story pervades these works. Yet their full meaning has eluded our grasp until now. In De-Coding the Metaphor, Ostrovsky offers up key insights to unlock the intention of many of his most viewed canvases.

BIO
Victor Ostrovsky: At the intersection of art and espionage.

Born in Canada but raised in Israel, Victor showed an early inclination for art. A neighbor of the well-known Israeli painter, Giladi, who often worked on the street, Victor would watch him spellbound on the way to and from school. Giladi became an early mentor to Victor, but other obligations called.

An ardent Zionist with a fervent commitment to the vision of Israel as a great and principled nation, Victor at age 18, became the youngest officer in the Israeli armed forces (Navy). Rising to the rank of lieutenant commander in the Israeli Navy and serving as head of their weapon testing program, Victor was recruited to the Mossad, Israel's elite foreign intelligence service. But during his years of training and subsequent missions, Victor became disillusioned with elements within the Mossad whose self-motivated agendas threatened to destroy the State of Israel rather than protect it.

He left the Mossad and wrote the New York Times #1 best selling expose, By Way of Deception, which shook the agency to its foundations. Then Victor came full circle and returned to his first love—painting. Today, Victor's insight and knowledge of the intelligence community powerfully inform his art. His canvases evoke the enterprise and language of the international intelligence community, synthesizing multiple layers of meaning, which emote an evocative sense of story for the viewer.
